GIRLS' LEAGUE EX. The Girls' League officers fhis year were as follows: Veronica Mulholand, presidenf: Marilyn Travaille, vice-presidenf: Dolores Gomes, secrefary- freasurer: Mary Ann Franscella, hisforian: Marian Vieira, parliamenfarian: and Barbara Gerbing, pub- Iicify chairman. The represenfafives elecfed from each class were: Frances Marfini, senior: Wanda Whifmore, junior: Dorofhy Marfini, sophomore: and Elsie Franscella, freshman. The fwo represenfafives 'Io congress were Marian Vieira and Croce Migliore. The highlighf of fhe year was fhe Mofher and Daughfer Desserf. Insfead of a banquef fhe girls presenfed a program and served Iighf refreshmenfs. If wenf over very well and was enjoyed immensely by all who affended. In November several of fhe girls, accompanied by fheir advisers, wenf fo a Girls' League conven- 'lion in Lindsay. Those who affended were Veronica Mulholand, Barbara Gerbing, Croce Migliore, Mrs. Duncan and Miss Boggiano. The girls had a grand fime and fhey broughf back some helpful hinfs, ideas, and suggesfions. hoven, Gomes, Silva, Gomes, Silveira SIGMA BETA TAU Inasmuch as Sigma Befa Tau had purchased fhe business machine for which fhey worked dur- ing fhe pasf few years, fhe club had a rafher un- evenfiul year. However, fhe senior girls of fhe group held several lunch and cake sales for fhe purpose of raising money fo defray fhe expenses of fheir field frip fo San Francisco which fook place during fhe Iaffer parf of April. Everyone had a wonderful fime, and besides being very enjoyable, fhe frip proved fo be educafional as well. While in San Francisco, fhe girls visifed fhe I'IeaId's Busi- ness College, fhe Federal Reserve Bank, fhe Sfand- ard Oil Company, fhe Pacific Telephone and Tele- graph Company, and fhe California Sfafe Employ- menf Service. A+ 'rhe beginning of fhe second semesfer fhe G. A. A. and Sigma Befa Tau enjoyed a social affair in Sfockfon which consisfed of a dinner af fhe EI Khobar Resfauranf, followed by a movie. Officers for fhe year were: Frances Marfini, presidenf: Pansy Gregory, vice-presidenf: Mary Ann Franscella, secrefary-freasurer: Beffy McMurry and Edna Vincelef, congressmen. WARWHOOP The '49-'50 Journalism Class made a parricular efforr +o publish a paper 'l'ha+ would be looked forward 'lo by all srudenls. Many new 'feafures were added for in+eres1', including 'rhe song of 'rhe week, a full page of jokes, and an original comic s+rip. Through +he abili+y of 'rhe ar+ edirors, +he Warwhoop was also given a color- ful cover for some edi+ions. Under 1'he supervision of fhe adviser, Mr. Arganbrigh'I', an ediror was appoinied for each quarrer, Barbara Gerbing was given firsl' swing a+ lhe job, followed by Marilyn Travaille, Frances Marlini, and Carol Poynor. The Warwhoop siaff was repre- senred in congress by Marilyn Travaille. A+ lhe beginning of lhe year +he mimeograph gave quile a bil' of +rouble, bu+ afier several adiusimenfs +he paper was run off in fine s'ryle. The Junior Sfafesmen of America, under fhe leadership of Mr. Poleffi, had a very successful year. Some of fhe oufsfanding evenfs of fhe firs'l' semesfer in- cluded falks by Sergeanf Baron of fhe California Highway Pafrol and Sheriff Carlos Souza. A field frip was made fo Judge lv1cNoble's police courf in Sfockfon. Sherman Rogers, Loren Kincaid, and Marilyn Travaille affended a regional meefing af Turlock. Loren was elecfed parliamenfarian of fhe regional J. S. A. Officers for fhe second semesfer were: Loren Kincaid, presidenfg Marian Vieira, vice-presidenfg Marilyn Travaille, secrefary-freasurerg and Veronica Mulholand, secrefary of publicify. Since fhe J. S. A. is now a parf of fhe Social Problems class, speakers have been asked fo speak concerning marriage problems. The firsf of fhese speakers was Judge Roberf Sullivan.
