BUT due To some injuries and some oT The Tellows quiTTing, They landed in TiTTh place. They losT Their TirsT league game To l-lughson, buT came back TighTing To deTeaT Hilmar. Then They wenT on a five-game losing sTrealc. They losT all These games by one or Two poinTs, wiTh The excepTion oT The Escalon game, which They losT 42-I7. The A's Then deTeaTecl Denair, only To lose anoTher one-poinT game To Linden. ln The big game wiTh Escalon They deTeaTed The league champs 32-26. Even if The boys didn'T win all Their games. They showed loTs oT spiriT and TighT while playing. The B's had a much more successful year. They won Their TirsT Tive league games. Then They suffered a seTbaclc by losing a close one To l-lughson. They won Their nexT game, only To lose a Toughie To Denair, Then won Their remaining Three games. When The season ended The B's were in a Three-way Tie Tor TirsT place in The NorThern l-lalT wiTh Denair and l-lughson. Our B's won This play-oTT which gave Them The righT To meeT PaTTerson, SouThern l-lalT champions. ln This game The B's puT up a hard baTTle, only To lose To a greaTly superior Team. STarTing lineup Tor This year's B Team included one Treshman. Two sophomores, one iunior, and a senior. Baseball is also under Coach Jacobsen's direcTion. AT The beginning oT The season our Two baskeTball Teams looked very good on The Tloor. The A Team as well as The B Team underwenT much hard pracTice and drilling, and pleased Coach Olavarri very much in The season's perTormance. Coach Olavarri also coached The C and D baskeTball Teams, and laTer The Track Teams. Miss Boggiano also spenT anoTher successTul year here aT Ripon as coach oT all girls' games and inTra- mural sporTs, as well as being supervisor oTThe G.A.A. All The sporTs were enioyed by The girls.
