All are anxious To begin work on The year- book, which is The highlighr oT every school year. The Mission sTaTT oT I948 was no excepTion. The whole sTaTT was ready and waiTing The day picTures were scheduled To be Taken. All were ready and waiTing, Too, Tor The clay To come when The Theme oT The I948 Mission would be chosen, so ThaT arTicles and all oTher work could begin. Finally our book slowly began To Take shape. ArTicles were wriTTen, Then re-wriTTen. PicTures were Taken. Then re-Taken. Everyone was busy in The prep- araTion oT The annual ThaT we hoped would be bigger and beTTer Than ever. lT was work. There is no deny- ing ThaT. ProoTreaders were burdened wiTh many arTicles To be correcTed. Deadlines had To be meT. AdverTisemenTs had To be secured, and candid shoTs snapped. Gene Driver. The Congress had a very successful year, full of discussion and bills. Bills were broughf up af every meefing. Some of fhe main bills considered during fhe year included 'the parking plan, a ban on girls wearing boys' alfhefic sweafers, and fhe legal boun- daries in 'rhe gym. A Four congressmen affended fhe Fall and Spring Junior Sfafesmen Convenfions, and several congress- men affended fhe Regional Convenfions. Under fhe leadership of Chief Jusfice Bud Pichef- fo, fhe Supreme Courf also enioyed a successful year of acfivify. Chief Jusfice Picheffo, and Associafe Jusfices Frances Silva, Eugene lvlenshew, Orvan Roome, and Audrey Snodgrass dealf wifh each case wifh fairness and dispafch. There were numerous crimes commifled during fhe firsf few monfhs of fhe year, buf as fhe season progressed fhe crime wave dwindled down fo nofhing.
