E ugene Berry The Junior High has had two parties this year. One was a Hallowe'en party given on October 28, 1933. After going through the Chamber of Horrors, Hallowe'en games were played throughout the evening. Refreshments were served later in the evening. Our next art is to be a swimmin Dart held at Stockton. This re ort P Y 8 l Y P having been written up before our second party, we are unable to write about it. The Junior High decided they wanted a stage of their own. The school board gave us a platform, so next we needed curtains. A program was given on February 9, 1934. Recitations were given, followed by some tumbling by the girls' gym class. Selected numbers were played by the Junior Orchestra. A negro comedy was given, called Ammonia White vs. Rastus Jones. W'e made 154473. Everyone took part in our program and enjoyed it very much. SPORTS The Junior High boys have been playing different games against a number of schools all year. We started out with football, playing the high school, Manteca, Salida, and Escalon several times, and lost only a couple of games. Then we played basketball, practiced a lot, and played different teams. Once in February we played in the Stockton Y. M. C. A., and went swimming afterwards. Now we are prac- Page Twenty-three

ticing on baseball. We played the grammar school and are going to play the Chris- tain School Friday, April 13. VV e hope to be lucky and win the game, although it is on Friday, the 13th. Later games will be played against Salida, Atlanta, and the River School. The athletic season will close with a combined track meet among the various grammar schools around Ripon. The girls' gym class started out this year by playing volley ball. Several games were played with the Freshmen. Next we started to play basketball. After practicing a while we played the Frosh and won a few games. We are now practicing baseball. We haven't played any other classes yet, but hope to shortly, and We will try our best to Win. As soon as the tennis courts are cleaned off we will start playing tennis. Then We are going to have a tennis, archery, and horseshoe tournament. Page Twenty-foul'
