Having almost completed the last scene of our mem- orable career in Ripley High School, our play is now at a climax. Our first scene began when we entered high school as Freshmen with an enrollment of one hundred twenty-five. We chose as our class officers Bob McVey, .Toe Kerwood, and Yvonne Shamblen. The peona was selected for the class flower: green and white, our colors, and We Work Not For School, But For Life, our motto. Our contributions to the cheer- leading section were Helen Harpold and Carolyn Parsons. As our second scene opened we chose as our leaders for the year Ioe Kerwood, Sandra Kessel, Bob McVey, and Doris Shamblen. We contributed to the band as majorettes, Sandra Kessel and Betty Rollins and they retained this honor until they were Seniors. Both of the candidates for Mr. and Miss Viking won the high honor. They were Yvonne Shamblen and John Lee Hin. We began our third scene with high hopes and great ambition. The highlights of this year were the sponsoring of the Mr. and Miss Viking contest, the annual Junior -Senior Banquet and the Junior Variety Show toward which we can now look with many fond remem- brances. Our officers were Joe Kerwood, Jeanne Staats, Carolyn Williams, and Ronald Reynolds. As the curtain went up on our fourth and last scene we selected as our officers, Bill Cadle, Joe Kerwood, Carolyn Williams and Tommy Young. included in this scene will be the Senior play, the traditional class night, and the most exciting day of the year, our sneak day. For the second time in our four years of high school life our candidates for Mr. and Miss Viking, Carolyn Parsons and Foster Skeen, once again maintained the high honor, We are also proud of our gridiron heroes and we know they will make a success in everything they set out to do. As we reach the grand finale, we realize our high school career is at a close and we feel a part of us is left echoing throughout the halls of our cherished school. We will have many fond memories of our friendships, good times, and difficulties which were present in every day of our high school life. We are very grateful to the fact that we have been blessed with many sponsors to whom we would like to express our thanks for the kindness, patience, and co-operation they have shown us, and for helping us to be more capable in meeting the problems of the adult world.
