Emilio Chavez Jack of Hearfs The sophomore-sponsored King of Hearts Dance was a great success with the theme of Hernando's Hideaway . Gloria Griego, Larry Sanchez, Emilio Chavez ,Q fv N Ravens danced to the flowing music of Rios own dance band the Raven- aires. The band played music rang- ing from Jazz to the Cha Cha Cha and even an occasional Mambo.

Who 's Who For the third year the Po Ye Da has had the honor of presenting to the stu- dent body the names of those students who have been selected to Who's Who. The Rio Grande faculty and administra- tion diligently studied the student body looking for those special people who have demonstrated above-average achievement in academics, leadership, ac- tivities participation and cooperation with others. Congratulations to these twenty-two students and to the Rio Grande faculty and administration for a job well done. DIANA MARTINEZ Diana was born on February 5, 1949. Other than being Head Varsity Cheerleader Diana has actively participated in Drama Club Newspaper Staff junior House Girls State Delegate Student Council Representative CBoard Memberj, Boy-Girl State Club Honor Society B-Team Cheerleader Candy- striper Ravenette CCouncilmanj Treasurer Latin Club This has been Diana's second time in Who's Who. This fall Diana plans to attend the University of New Mexico. JOHNNY LEYBA Born january 18, 1950, Johnny has participated in Drama Club . . . Latin Club . . . Student Council . . . Soph. Class Parliamentarian- Historian Speech Club Vice-President Jr. Class Boy's State Delegate Candidate for West Point Leadership Award National Forensic League Staters' Club Science Club Student Body President National Honor Society As for the future, johnny plans to attend Southern California University.
