'CZ' The German Club is sponsored by Mrs. Gilbert, who teaches German here at Rio. The main function of the German Club.is to further the study of the German language, tradition, and culture. A11 members have taken or are taking German. The German Club plays a very important role in school activities, because it has helped promote school spirit and sportsmanship by the sale of game ribbons, for both football and basketball seasons. A new money-making project was taken up this year, the first' of its kind, the sale of R.G.H.S. beanies in the school colors of red and black. Activities within the club include roller skating, Christmas caroling, bowling, ice skating, a city wide banquet, hosted by Rio's Club for all other German Clubs in the city, and a picnic in the Sandia Mountains.
