Home Economics Baking is one of the most treasured arts learned in home economics. It proves invaluable in the future. A comfortable home is important, perhaps more than anything else. Home living is a complete study of how to do this. ,V BM EM ax! 9 A w. .Q i e ' ,,,..f-f Knowing how to decorate and furnish a home is very important Interior decorating is fun as well as interesting. Service with a smile, -table setting and serving are also part of the curriculum in home economics. The home economics department realizes the impact of current social, scientific, and economic changes on the home. The effects of automation give emphasis to the need for helping indivi- duals learn to solve problems, make decisions, adjust to changes, acquire some skills, establish wholesome attitudes and develop a sense of values. Keeping this in mind, our program is designed to meet these needs.

Industrial Arts Whose footprint? The metal shop does many interesting thingsg among these is aluminum casting. M. .K.s, I .,,, J Drafting is an intricate and precise network of premeditated lines. Several fine tools are used in this art. I0 The Industrial Arts Department is a place where students may explore different phases. of work: metals, woods, drafting, art, and arts and crafts. In these elective courses, students learn the use of hand tools and basic machines, and methods of procedures prescribed in the different areas. These courses can greatly enhance the creativeness and self-satisfaction of a student. The wood crafts shop employs many devices and skills in their art. This device being used by one of the students is a planer. ,f' Scissors and paper are useless, but with some imagination and a little skill it can be made into numerous articles both beautiful and decorative.

This subject gives you a better understanding of human behavior. i .gf-'ri The Social Studies Curricultun requires S Juniors to take United States History and seniors to take World History. Freshmen and sophomores may elect to study geography or civics. juniors and seniors may choose economics, government, sociology or South- west History. In United States History, the emphasis has shifted from the period prior to the Civil War to the more recent period. --.... The approach to geography and World His- tory is cultural. 91' The history of the Southwest particularly inspires us because it is about our part of the United States. Our forefathers who formed this country were deter- mined to have a free country. The study of these men and their endeavors develops a love of liberty. It is very important to know how our government was formed and is run to become a good citizen. I2
