haracter, cholarship, Leadership, Service To be tapped for National Honor Society at the annual National Honor Society Assembly each spring is one of the greatest honors to be bestowed on a student at Rio Grande. The four requirements for membership symbolized on the emblem by letters, CSLS, are: CHARACTER, the inner drive for perfection that distinguishes them from others, SCHOLARSHIP, members a-re required to have a 3.25 average, LEADERSHIP, being able to obtain the respect and aid of fellow students and SERVICE: The highest of distinctions is service to others. The N.H.S. is one of the most active clubs on campus. Protects they have undertaken have been the sale of car decals and sponsoring the Beat the Matador contest. In a service proiect for the school, the N.H.S. collects and displays in the library the pictures of the foreign exchange students, and the flags of the countries they represent. Sponsor of the N.H.S. is Miss Laura Wilson. New members chosen at the spring assembly are: FIRST ROW, Left to Right: Demecia Padilla, Charles Casper, Diane Albert, Ronald Angel, Glenda Green, and Linda Hetzel. SECOND ROW: Paul Salas, Mark Shawn, Billy McLean, Becky Atkinson, Carol Gilpin and Yolanda Padilla. THIRD ROW: Jo Langley, Harvey Lee, Jane Louden, Ronny Banks, Karen Kemmer, Donnie Nichols. FOURTH ROW: Linda Espinoza, Wayne Bennett, Karen Crocker, Pam Harris, Kirk Aleck, Raymond Macy, Danny BNHFSIB, 5HmmY Herrera, Dvris Lobato. FIFTH ROW: Priscilla Torrez, Phil Goss, Jean Darden, Carol Easton, Ralph Ferig, Joyce Gable, Billy Barry, Anne Cox, James Pickard.
