McMonagle Assistant Principal A successful school is one that is established for the purpose of transmitting ideals, values, customs, and knowledge that serve as the basis of its culture and existence. As administrators, we have the privilege of coordinating and synchronizing all of the es- sential elements that comprise a successful school. We have the enviable task of supervising the various components that make Ringgold High School a leader in the educational field. Central to all of these is the responsibility for making the school become an optimum learning environment for facilitating and enhancing the cognitive, social, affective, and aesthetic development of the students who attend our school. We employ our knowledge in evaluating and structuring cur- ricular programs for the students. Our additional task is to ensure that the rules and procedures are fair and carried out in an equitable fashion by all and for all. Education has many formal plateaus, one of them surely being 2 completion of high school. To this end, each student strives th very little awareness - many times of the multitude of man energies needed to orchestrate this final plateau. I have vays considered it a privilege to play such a vital role in the end Jduct, but have never lost sight of the diversity of influences :essary in achieving the end product. Fo every graduating class there surely is a certain feeling of rting that exists because of the fond recollections and as- tiations. Teamwork has been the key of our championship performances. Winning teams demonstrate syn- ergy, i.e., the total production of a group of people working in concert is greater than their total individual production. Team- work breeds enthusiasm, dedication, feelings of belonging, and commitment to others. The Ringgold School District, through its academic and extra-curricular programs, attempts to bal- ance individualism and self-reliance with cooperation and teamwork. john Donne, the English poet, wrote: No man is an island alone to himself. In other words, We're All In This Together. Dr. Iames A. Through both formal and informal processes, the school, home, and community set levels of expectation for students. A student's academic maturation and deportment in school are the result of these complex interactions. The Ring- gold School District has always set high, but realistic, ed- ucational and behavioral goals for its 4,000 students. This has been made possible by the strong support demonstrated by the Board of School Directors, faculty, parents, and residents of the seven component municipalities. The educational opportu- nities provided in this kind of educational environment are extensive.
