Captures Section The Rams' Mark Matsko makes a good return. Besides being the section champs in '78, the Rams had several individual winners as well. john Chatlak, who went undefeated in singles play last year, was the Section 5 Singles Champ. After winning the Section 5 championship, lohn went on to capture third place in the WPIAL Singles Tournament. Artie DiFrancesco finished in second place in the Section Singles Champi- onship, behind teammate, Chatlak. ln Doubles play, the team of Artie DiFrancesco and Mark Matsko captured the Section Doubles Champi- onship. Artie's Singles record for the 1978 sea- son was 21-3 and Mark's was 17-6. These fine individual players prove that the tennis team was an all-around winner. For the first time in their seven year his- tory, Ringgold's tennis team captured the WPIAL Section 5 title. With a league record of 14-0, the Rams, coached by Mr. Keith McMonagle, reached the play-offs. After a tough season in which they faced stiff competition from McKeesport and Thomas jefferson, the Rams advanced to the second round of the play-offs. They defeated Peters Township by a score of 4- 1, but were later downed by Mount Leba- non.
