On September 3 80 very rough and unpolished little pebbles were IJ dumped upon the steps of the Rifle Union High The upper classmen of course realized that they must work hard to polish and cut these stubborn little rocks They set to work with a will They teased and heckled these poor little froshes until most of the rough edges had been battered off Initiation added the finishing touches Of course on such an important occasion the proper clothes must be worn So the upper clessmen designed special costumes for us The boys wore shorts and helters with a green ribbon in their hair They looked simply revishing in them The girls modeled sheets, gunnvsacks and other slch materials they preferred Both boys and girls wore large shoes to fit their feet which were also large The girls looked even more fetching than After this ordeal we became bright shining stars and did not look so out of place with the other bright people of the school Out of the mist we elected our brightest people for our class officers which were Ted nmmerman, President, Nancv Wosteneyer, I 9 , ' as the boys. 34 Vice-Presidentg Ellen Wilson, Secretaryg and Dale Wallace, Treasurer.
