Fall Sports Banquet After the completion of each sports season this year, a potluck dinner was held for the athletes and their families. Athletic awards were presented after the dinner. 1. Mr. Kurtz presents awards to his cross country runners Jim Hausotter, Mike Kig-gins, Greg Stratton, and Tim Wilborn. 2. Jill Juhl and Mr. and Mrs. Banducci enjoy themselves as they go through the food line. 3. Lori McKay congratulates Teena Creech as KayLynn Allen, Sherri Good-son, Chani Mitchell, and Shelley Tolman watch. 4. Michelle Gray and Lesa Aikins appear to be eager to eat as they are the first ones to the food tables. 5. Miss Anderson presents the varsity volleyball players with their awards. CROSS COUNTRY 1979 The Irish had a cross country team for the first time in five years. They didn’t have enough runners to make a full team but they still competed. All the team members improved their times tremendously. The boys were running up to 30 miles a week and the girls were running up to 20 miles a week. Tim Wilborn was top placer for the Irish, placing twelth out of thirty-one in league and twenty-sixth out of sixty in district. Since there were only two seniors, the cross country team will be coming back stronger and better next year. 1. Tim Wilborn and John Wagoner sprinting the last one-hundred yards of the race. 2. Linda Howell keeping up a good pace as she heads for the finish line. 3. Coach Nolz really brought his JV Green team together near the end of their season. They had some very close games, only to lose in the final seconds. However, they had an overall successful season. 1.
