Theo Mann Ervin Ha cron Class of '53 Senior Class History After five long years of high school, our mighty class of ’53 has been removed from the ranks of Riddle High. In our eighth grade year, for experimental purposes, we were moved in with the high school. The highlight of the year was our class play “The Show Must Go On.’’ Entering high school the fall of 1949, we were put through the paces by the Sophomores. We had to wear old clothes backwards and were autioned off to upperclassmen for whom we were serfs the rest of the day In our Sophomore year we distinguished ourselves in royalty and in the field of sports. Several of the boys participated in football and basketball. At the Homecoming Dance, Phyllis Huffman was crowned Queen. The following spring, Theo Mann was chosen Queen of the Junior-Senior Prom. In the roll of upper-classmen, we gave the annual Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, using a Hawaiian theme. Noma Townsend was candidate for carnival Queen. In Sports, Hal Hammersley set a new county javelin record. Continued on page 18
