ur Principal Supervises Fore! classr ROBERT B. FRANCE Principal B.A., University of California; M.A., San Francisco State College: Social Science, English Teacher and Forensics Coach at Bakersfield High School and Richmond High School; Head of Social Science Department, Counselor and Dean of Boys at Richmond Union High School; Instructional Vice-Principal and Principal at Harry Ells High School; 19 years at RHS. TO THE SENIORS: The Senior Class of 1970 is a very special class in the history of Richmond High School. You were the pioneers at the North Campus; and through your leadership, you kept alive the standards and spirit that have always been a part of Richmond High School. You went on to South Campus and made positive contributions to the school and the commu- nity. As Seniors, you are to be congratulated on completing one phase of your education. The demands that will be made of you during the next years will be great, but you have already demonstrated that you are a class that can meet the challenges of your time. My sincere good wishes to a fine group of young men and women. Sincerely, Robert B. France 26

ormer Teacher Returns As co: iz ELMER W. McCORMICK Principal, South Campus B.A. and M.A., University of California; Mathematics and Physical Education Teacher, Wil- merding High School, San Francisco; Longfellow Junior High School, Richmond High School, Richmond Adult School; Dean’s Office, Richmond High School; Counselor, Richmond Adult School; Principal of Richmond Adult School and Adams Junior High School. 24 years in Richmond School District; 5 years at Richmond High School. TO THE SENIORS: The decade of the seventies will be an important milestone in your life. I forsee two important aspects. First, I feel that changes in your way of life will accelerate, and secondly, that the really important things that will affect your life will be most affected by your relationships with people, not things. I feel you will find smoother sailing in the seventies, if you spend time planning your future and not worrying about the past. Keep an open mind. Make learning a lifelong process in order to meet the challenges of constant change. Maintain good lines of communication by listening and trying to understand the feelings and ideas of others. Good communication builds trust. Trust is basic to positive relationships between people. Best wishes for future happiness and success. Sincerely, Elmer W. McCormick 28
