fwk A Harry Hardman, better known as 'Chickn to some Richburg residents, was born on March 9, 1897 in Richburg and died on December 25, 1958 He is survived by his wife, Elga Paul Hardman, whom he married on May h,1929, and three children, Mrs Shirley Brundage, Mrs. Norma Amesbury Harry Paul Hardman, Jr. During his life he held man offices including Mayor of Richburg from April l9h6 to April 1952, Tax Collector from 1933 unt11 his death, an was bus driver and custodian for six years at Richburg Central School He was very active in church affairs and was choruster and teacher of Sunday School, president of the Sunday School at the time of his death, and was very instrumental in the writing of the Constitutlon for the SOS Class. He also was a member of the Fire Department and Civil De fense, Richburg Baptist Church, Grange for 27 years, a 32nd Degree Ma son in the Jamestown Consistory and one time president and secretary of the P T A Harry was a man who was interested in a wide variety of hobbies held the Sllver Beaver Award in the Boy Scouts in which he was a master for about 20 years Gladioli were a favorite flower and he spent many hours in raising them He enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting stamps and coins His interests even reached out to teaching when he taught a Red Cross Course in First Aid Harry will always be remembered by the school students, faculty, and all who worked at the school or came in contact with him. Memories will be cherished concerning his good humor, quick wit, and pleasing per- sonality. His passing has left a vacant place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
