SOP!-IOMORES PRESIDENT Kenneth Skinner XIICE PRESIDENT Garold Hopkins SECRETARY Waneta Dutton 'TREASURER Connie Oliver The Sophomore Class began its year with 24 members, eighteen of which were boys. Mrs. Aldrich and Mr. Alton White started olf the year as their advisors, but in January, Mr. Vflhite left and Mr. Gibbons took his place. Looking forward to next vear when their expenses will be more. the class has made a good start toward having a good balance in their treasurx' by sponsoring a bake sale in the fall, and in the spring bv the selling of magazines. ln April rlw Sophomores engaged the Coliseum for an evening and held a skating partv which was attended bv a large number of the students. 'V Back Row: Mrs. Webster, blames Cady, Allan Carpenter, Helen Andrus, Gertrude Peterson, Lela Owens, Bessie Hinman, Betty Lewis, Gwen Green. FRESI-IMEN PRESIDENT Douglas Benjamin XIICE PRESIDENT Marjorie Allen SECRETARY Gertrude Peterson TREASURER Helen Andrus In September thirty eager Freslimen entered high school ready to make their name with Mr. Kamalcaris and Mrs. Webster ably acting as advisors. Their activities were of necessity limited, because of the priority placed on them by upper classmen. In the fall, however, they sponsored a skating party at the Coliseum which brought them a fair return to their treasury. In the spring the group traveled to Wellsville where they visited several industries and were given tallcs on occupations in the various fields by men qualified to do this. This field trip was helpful in aiding students to decide upon a career for them- selves and to set up aims and objectives in working toward that goal in their remain- ing years in High School. 25 Bark Row: Nlrs. SOCCER Off to a good start the Richburg Bearcats beat Rushford in the first game of the season. Cn through the season they blazed a trail to the top of the Class C League. The play-oils were at Belfast with Rushford where victory once more went to R. C. S. Next to York to play Kendall, the winner of the other part of the Class C League. The mud was plenty thick but the spirit and team work still remained and the team emerged victorious. On to Brockport to play Scottsville, determined to keep the record. They scored again in the mud and water and brought home the Soccer Trophy for 1948. The good spirit and team work along with the coaching from Coach Nlaxson really paid off.
