Interpretation of drama, prose, and poetry, extemporaneous speaking, children's literature, humorous interpretation and readers' theatre are the categories in which students may compete in Forensics. The 1971-72 forensics team earned 21 superior ratings. All of those who earned superior ratings were eligible to compete in the honors tournament last May. R. M. hosted the Montgomery County Forensic League meet early in February which brought Richard Montgomery's forensic team 12 superior ratings in the category of readers' theatre. Ron .Newcomb, a competitor in an invitational tournament, held at Wheaton High School last winter, placed fourth in the category of dramatic interpretation. Bill Steele, Jeannette Belliveati. Last n iors, Jeanette Belliveau, and Tom Field, received a semi-finalist ranking for their performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test chosen on the basis of the selection scores on the 1972 YM.S.Q.T.
