Mrs. Dippell informs a Rocket Staff member that her captions do not fully describe the picture. Mrs. Horn reads an amusing essay to her class. Four ephemeral years Under the direction of Evelyn Dippell, department resource teacher, sophomore English teachers aided their students in correcting grotesque deformities in grammar, punctuation, and spelling; other instructors prodded their juniors through Giants in the Earth and watched contentedly as they devoured A Separate Peace. Across the hall from Mrs. Burkett's speech class, Mrs. Frindell coached budding stars through their one-act plays. Mrs. Herndon's Advanced Composition and Grammar students struggled to rewrite rejected essays, and tired seniors vowed to pass English for one more year. Mrs. Herndon finds a particularly bawdy passage in Canterbury Tales to share with her third period class. Mr. McEachern has Excedrin Headache 69. Mrs. Weaver graciously acknowledges a student's salute. Mrs. Feldesman listens attentively as a student explains why he is late for class. 26 FACULTY

Faces are the same in any language. Mrs. Zeiders puzzles over a student's faulty pronunciation. FACULTY » R.M.'s language experts helped students become prepared for a bi-lingual world. After mastering the basics of grammar and pronunciation, French students concentrated on reading and writing in the classes of Mr. Wight and Mrs. Fiege. Mrs. Flynn's students learned to speak Spanish, while the Latin students obtained a better knowledge of their own English vocabulary. Mrs. Flynn clearly finds teaching French and Spanish at R.M. an enjoyable experience. Mrs. Fiege, French teacher, is entertained by a student's liberal interpretation. Spanish pig-latin is not considered very amusing by Miss O'Donovan. Mr. Wight, French and Spanish teacher, is impressed by a student's intelligent response.

Mrs. Washe points out a trouble spot in Southeast Asia to her Special Education class. Miss Wilbur informs a disgusted student that she had a delicious lunch. Mrs. Bills listens open-mindedly to a student criticizing the Establish ment. Mr. Jones suggests that Fanny Hill be put on the Senior required reading list.
