Chaos:a school Mrs. Henderson is caught drinking the mercury out of the thermometers so they won't register higher than 98.6. Mrs. Roush prepares a college transcript for an anxious senior. Mrs. Gursky accepts a form-letter absence excuse. Mrs. Nicewarner directs a desperate visitor to the first floor men's room. The bustling secretarial staff of Richard Montgomery helped to keep our school of two thousand students running smoothly. The office secretaries were busy typing bulletins and other information for teachers and students. Mrs. Nicewarner had the special job of secretary to Mr. Miles, while Registrar, Mrs. Roush, handled hundreds of college transcripts. Mrs. Henderson, school nurse, and Mrs. Joyce, her aide, were always ready to calm the continual flow of ailing students that came through the doors of the nurse's office during the year. Mrs. Joyce admits to the Health Room a student afflicted by terminal hangnails.

Security is ... ... a counselor who cares. With over four hundred students each, R.M.'s five counselors were kept perpetually busy during the past year. The door to the Guidance office remained open throughout the school day, and the counselors were always ready to discuss problems with troubled students. Careers, colleges, and schedules were the main topics covered in counselor-student conferences. The Guidance office also published a monthly bulletin to keep the student body informed of test dates, deadlines, and other vital information. Miss Smith jokes with a fellow counselor in a rare lull between appointments. Guidance counselor, Mr. Crispeno finds that a previously failing stu dent has made the Honor Roll. 24 FACULTY Mrs. Oass shares college experiences with R.M. graduate. Mr. Horner explains a daughter's problem to her worried parents. The cheerful atmosphere in Mr. Hull's office calms an anxious student.
