I will abstain from whatever is deleterious or mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in my power to elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence all personal matters committed to my keeping, and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling. Those years have taught us each to say, Thy will, not mine, be doneg To live for mankind, day by day, And ne'er our duty shun. We 've builded not that eyes of men Our handiwork might view, But that we 'd serve where'er and when Our duty calls us to. We seek not any worldly fame, For such can mean but naught Compared with service in His name, With human kindness fraught.
