ilitntnrg nf 0112155 nf 1553 Now that we axe nearing our final point of high school life we find that our future is not too certain Therefore we bellewe lt IS more pleasant to lemlnlsce oxen our past This past may we add will llngel ln our memolles alwavs lt has helped to make the boys and gnls that started at Rexexe Hlgh School men and women Today was September 13 1949 Along the stels making then wav to school Airnmg at the Hlgh School we suncxed what was to be oui home for the next oul tears For vou see we wane lweshmen Wo sooner had the d001S opened it 8 10 thm oul txoubles began After becomlng acqualnted Wlth the bulldmg our classes and teachers we began our official business undel the capable dlxectlon of Mr Ed ward Flood After splrlted campalgnlng Herbert Kelley was elected president Bobby Moore was our uce pzesldent Alice Chxota, our secretalv and Jo Anne Smlth our treasurer Our officers chosen we turned to our next task of choosing' our class pm The days passed 1ap1dly The Freshman Council, splrited by the warm weather made plans to hold the Freshmen Picnic at Canoble Lake New Hampshire Thus on June 10 we packed sandwiches mto ou1 lunch bags, happmess 1nto our hearts and ourselves 1nto busses, even though omlnous clouds threatened to unpack everythlng Reachlng Canoble Lake, we separated, one cllque headed for the swxm m1ng pool another towards the skatmg unk, while stxll others patronxzed the var1ous amuse- ments After eatmg our lunches wlth voraclous rapldxty, we gathered at the ball field where soft ball games were enjoyed by all When we assembled for the Joulney home, we were weary but happy Here was a day we would never forget Though the memories of the p1cn1c were fresh ln our minds, we prepared for the big day of our freshman year graduatlon Early 1n June we assembled at the C1ty Hall to TSCCIVQ our diplomas from Mr Paul Buonfigho and to be congratulated by other members of the school commlttee Oul exerc1ses then came to a close and we left to enJoy our summer sacatlon After a seemingly short but pleasant vaca tlon we returned to Revere High School as sophomores To our amazement we found our class had been enlarged conslderably by the adda tion of students from Garfield Jumor Hlgh School and the Paul Revere School After befrlendmg the newcomers and showing them the way thmgs are accomplished at Revere Hxgh we once agam focused our attention on class 3CtlV1t1eS After submitting the mcomlng freshmen to the customary pranks we elected our class offi cers under the able hand of Mr Tlmothy Colllns The outcome of that electxon was President, Michael Sclalappa Vlce President Louis Gener azzo Secretary Marjorie Thlstle Treasurer 'xllC9 Chlota With the electlons of our officers we felt that our class had really begun We also selected our class motto, color and flower We chose as our motto A Sound Mmd ln a Sound Q ' ' 7 1 ' -1 1 ' ' l ' . -.
