Badminton, Cooking Raymond Smith Social Studies Sailing mi, . ,S 1 f 1 Tm-ez Under the direction ot Miss Hindee, Reseda High Schools music department has grown by pep bands, outstanding musicals, and new courses. Music history, the most recent addition, is for ad- vanced students. Atter successfully producing MANHATTAN TOWERS on its own, the music department, in conjunction with the drama department, produced the sparkling musical OKLA- HOMA' A notable asset to the entire student body is the new Pep Band that plays lor school assemblies under the direction ot Mr Oagliardi. Widely' acclaimed are the Regenaires, Reseda's otticial dance band The Regent Marching Band is seen at every mator Reseda sports event. A note oi variety is added to the music courses as field trips, choir festivals, and contests chime in the busy schedule. The music students at Reseda are well pre- pared tor careers in teaching in dance bands, and in professional and non-protessional choirs and orchestras. MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT Headed by Mr. Eossett, the math department continues to tangle with ditticult formulas, to track down multiple unknowns, and to corral those complicated trigonometry tunctions at break-neck speed, A tield day at Occidental College and a math contest at L A City College are but two ot the activities that dot the spring semester calendar. A chance to air one's views and to swap ideas is provided by the Mathematics Club, sponsored by Mrs. Percer. Being largely college preparatory, the math department attracts students who intend to become college math, science, or engineering maiors, This year math analysis has been reor- ganized to include more analytic geometry tor college prepara- tion Only time can disclose the value ot this change. Long ago the lndians used paint on their laces, now Mr, Rozowski uses il to remodel homes Mr lliverls hobby ot hagpipe playing is certainly unique, but he had better be careful nct to start iii' stampede 17
