JUNIOR CLASS e members of the Junior Class are pictured above, readlng left to r1ght Allen Smith, Marilyn Goedeken Gerry Maxey, Arthur Laird, Margery Carpenter,and Gene Rebman, Mr Campbell sponsor All six were in the class last year The Juniors took Eng ish, American History, Algebra, and General Bus1ness the first semester and Bookkeeping the second semester The boys took Shop and the girls took Advanced Typing All of the class went out for sports and vocal music and Allen went out for band The Sophomore and Junior classes organlzed together as one group President Gerry Maxey Vice President Art Laird Treasurer Allen Smith Secretary Gene Rebman Sponsor Mr Campbell The Juniors put on a play, 'Aunt Bessie Beats the Band ' Alice MorleyQMar ilyn Goedekenl had lots of money She lost her loved one, Frederick Frost CGene Rebmanl because he had left her Alice bought a husband, Paul Vernon QAllen Smith! by giving him a salary Paul was a tramp, so he w1ll1ngly took the'Uob Aunt Bessie Bonner fMargery Carpenterl who was her housekee er,laid successful slege to the village lawyer, Hezekiah Hawkeye QGerry Maxey Simon TrotterfArt Lairdl, Betsy Slotter's handyman, was a lazy person May KetchumCGinger Frazi erl, tried to catch Hezekiah but lost and caught the grocery man Betsy Blotter !Betty Duvaull, was Alice Morley's maid The class had a 371 00 house,and the play was held November 18 1955 The Junior class went to Alma for County Government Day,December 7 1955 County Attorney Art Laird County Sheriff Allen Sm1th County Treasurer Marilyn Goedeken County Supervisor Gene Rebman County Welfare Margery Carpenter The schedule for that day was Welcome Get acoualnted and to offlces General assembly court room Recess Film court room Dinner in school by Leg Aux to offices Fllms DiSm1SS8l The Juniors sponsored the annual Junior Senlor banquet at the church, Ap ril 25, at 6 30 They used an Hawaiian theme The room was most attract1vely decorated 1 J' Th ' ' : 0 A l , A i . i A . 1 . , . n , . Qing SOPHOMORE CLASS The Sophomore Class pictures above in order from left to r1ght are Tom Jeffers, Betty Duvaul, Ginger Frazier, and the sponsor, Mr Campbell Theyhad their classes with the Freshmen th1s year The classes and teachers were English 9 10 M Campbell Guidance Mrs York World History Mr Campbell General Science Mrs York General Math MT Goedeken After the first semester their English changed to Literature, and Gu1dance to Health They also started Shop at that t1me and had lt on Wednesdays and Th ursdays The girls at that time had Home Economics Being a small class, they joined the Juniors for the1r class functlons, k had the same officers except Treasurer Tom Jeffers was Sophomore Treasurer 1 b The class participated in basketball and volleybal1,and the g1rls in Pep C u CH ISTMAS PROGRAM On Thursday evening, December 22 1955, the students and parents celebrated the coming of Jesus with the annual Christmas rogram The two lower rooms gave forth with Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls by hythm Band, followed w1th a song Frosty the Snowman The playlet, Christmas on a Day Coach, was engoyedfas was the old favorite Visit From St Nicholas, a choral reading by Grades A 5 Mrs Michel read a talk, Christmas Thoughts high school girls r and the mixed chorus Gl ory Be to God The pi ure to the left the entire school ing the finale of Sil Night and Joy to the ld Following the prog ram, the children were greatly surprised by visit from Santa Claus, and received treats him, as the p1cture t the right shows if by 6 7 8 grades T- 7 , C 1 I f up J Z W-' mf' M9 3 ered Little Lord Jesus, 112, is Q A e , f f if v C 4 , 3 U . a lv , ' !
