AN The Renick School Band was formed in the school year of 1956-57 with a group of musically inclined youngsters for the charter members and Mr. Larry Thompson as instructor. Some of the members had started lessons in the summer vacation before school started, but the majority of the students were completely new at playing in a band. During its first year the band played at several concerts including P.T.A. meetings, political rallies, and traded concerts with other schools. This year the band has performed at all the basketball games, the Christmas program, and a county school board meeting. Since the band was organized it has obtained blue and gold uniforms, more members and numerous compliments. We think Renick has a right to be proud of its band.
