CLASS HISTORY The class of '55 started on the tra1l across the pla1ns of old Rel1ance w1th twenty seven ploneers led by Mr Hopkmson Betty McClearn was Chlef w1th Cal-013 R0111n5ass1st1ng her Honors were many because we were actwe durmg th1s f1rst year Student Counc1l Honorary Mus1c art awards and sports awards were our ach1evements Leavmg the caravan Roberta Rodda moved to another settlement The second year ran along much the same route as our f1rst year w1th m creased dangers and some new tralls Our caravan was now reduced to twenty four after los1ng Johnny Evez1ch Freddy Cordorva and Davld Garc1a Sh1rley Clark Jean Jackson and Ramona Mc Ph1e Jo1ned our number to brmg It back to twenty seven D1fferentleaders were chosen for the second year 1nclud1ng Mr Tom Manatos Ronald Tome Tom Spaethe and Laurel G1bbs Pat Kelley Carole Rollms Tom Spaethe and Mr Henry Chadey took charge of round1ng up twenty settlers 1n the th1rd year On November Z7 news arr1ved that our class r1ngs were here As one of the h1ghl1ghts of the year Norma Kragovlch was chosen to be one of the cheerleaders She was also honor ed as Homecommg Queen Mrs Hunter Patr1ck dlrected the Jumor play There Goes the Br1de' Never 1n our h1story has there been such a br1ll1ant ball as the Jun1or Prom Golden Years w1th Betty McClearn re1gn1ngover lt and w1th Laurel Cubbs and Carole Roll1ns as her attendants Suddenly at th1s po1nt It all was commg to an end Though tasks and hard sh1ps were many through the years past pleasures and dehghts formed 1nnum erable memones Because of a m1shap wh1ch took qu1te a number of the group Jean Jackson Jack Nelson and Ronald Tome were unable to go on any farther w1th us Then Lorra1ne Coulter Jomed our group ra1s1ng 1ts number to 17 The fourth and f1nal step of our Journey was now reached and 1n a few short weeks th1s chapter of our l1ves was to be closed forever Laurel G1bbs Norma Kragov1ch and Cherle Henmngsen were elected to help Mr Chadey d1rect th1s f1nal year At the f1rst assembly of the year Laurel G1bbs entertamed us w1th a talk about her experlences at G1rls' State A new act1v1ty was added when 1nstead of hold1ng the usual Semor Hop the Jumors and sen1ors combmed 1n sponsormg the Jumor Semor Hop To help conduct the school act1v1t1es 1n a democrat1c form Pat Kelley and Laurel G1bbs were elected to carry on the dutles of Pres1dent and V1ce Pres1 dent of the Student Counc1l Norma Kragov1ch assumed the pos1t1on of cheerleader Buzzy Myers and Norma were chosen Homecom1ng K1ng and Queen by popular vote The semor play was They Went Thataway w1th Buzzy Myers Laurel G1bbs J1m Palcher Lorrame Coulter B111 Lew1s Pat Kelley Don Valdez Emma Esparza Ramona McPh1e and Chester Tarkmgton carrymg roles In the sprmg of '55 Norma Kragov1ch Lorrame Coulter Ramona.
