. .. THE TIGER A kind heart is a fountain of glad- ness, making ev- erything in it's vacinity freshen into smiles. Washington Irving A little kindness can go a long way. If you see a person with a long face such as Timmy's in Mrs. Hill's room, say a kind word and watch his smile appear. One kind word and a smile can make a beautiful day. My smile shows who I am. £ Sujuado He hath a heart as sound as a bell, and his tongue is the clapper; for what his heart thinks his tongue speaks. Much Ado About Nothing Act 111. Sc. 11. All of us have sincere feelings about work, love and play. Some can express what they feel inside through conversation. Others can- not and have to show their feelings with their actions. I am ... If we could go back and re-do the past, many of us would do things just as we did before. At times in your life you may feel that things will always remain the same. But then you realize that things never stay that way for long. For no one knows what tomorrow holds. We must hold onto our dreams and strive for the highest goal possible—Success! Think about tomorrow and what might be- come of you. As we finish High School together, each of us has our own dream. Each dream is special and unique because it our own dream. At sometime in your life you will hear a word, phrase, or a song, and it will bring back memories of the past you thought you had forgotten. No matter where you go or what you do, those memories will always be there to remind you of all the good and bad times we have shared at RHS. This is all a part of growing up and going our seperate ways. Later on you will remember these times as if they were yester- day. As we depart, let us look back on our memories with a smile. The beginning seniors make will shape their future. The closing of this special time is the unfolding of a new life. SENIORS 34 I AM ... The anticipa- tion made it seem like the moment would never come, and when it did it was well worth the wait. When the players walked out on the field you knew this game was their's. As the touchdowns began to add up in our favor the crowd could see the victory coming. The night didn't end with the football game, next was the homecoming dance, which really put the icing on the cake. We'll just leave it at that ... all night long. MADE IT!: WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND After the long hard days of work and study, we all need a little time away. The weekend provides this time, in which many pastimes have been created. Some of these activities in- clude riding around, visiting ponds and pe- can orchards, and rid- ing the strip. Of course there are the special weekends when we have dances, parties or just get together with friends. The week- ends give us time to be ourselves and also to get to be with friends. There are al- ways some who get into some kind of trouble, but they're usually ready for school on Monday morning. We've always had clubs at R.H.S. but this year a few boys have developed a unique” club of their own. R.H.S. now has an off campus all terrain club. This club is all about spinning wheels, sharp curves, and super fast cars. We all exceed the speed limit at some time or another, but these boys actually leave their mark. In the top picture we have the top eight all terrainers. GO FOR ITU student life 75 I AM The whole school looks so different from the new covered walkway to the shirts on our backs. Panama Jack, OP and preppy are in. The jeans this year are Jordache, Zena, any designer, and al- ways Lee and Levi's. The Ashia's, Nike's and Duck shoes are what to walk in. How many holes are in your ears? For girls the more the better to show off the new big earrings. 76 student life FASHIONS student life 77 student life 79 I AM............. The bruises, scrapes, cuts, and swollen muscles all show just how hard the game was played. TIGERS The RHS Tigers are still on the go. It takes long, hard hours of practice but it only makes things better. They sweat, they have sore muscles but they are al- ways ready to face their oppo- nent; ready to play their hardest ever. It may be tough, but they'll be able to pull through and come out on top. When they come out on top, they'll be able to say we did it! Then they can go on per- forming for their fans and mov- ing to the top. We're proud of our Tigers. ON THE GO The Tigers have had some sad and disappointing mo- ments, but they always come through for their fans. They never give up and that’s what counts for a Tiger. Long hours of hard work are involved in working on an annual. Some might think that it’s just a class you can take as an easy period. That's what some of this year's annual staff thought. You could probably ask any one of our people if they thought this and their answer would be yes. And they would also tell you that they were mistaken. Along with these hours of work there are laughter and excitment because we enjoy our work. It’s hard for any person who has never had to meet a deadline or give up an early “Saturday morning sleep-in to work on the annual, to understand. But this work is rightly rewarded when the book comes back a finished product. That self-satisfying feeling could never be matched by any other. Working this close together is not to say that we don't have our share of problems. There have been times when we have wanted to tear each other apart because of the stress we were under, but in the end we do what we must to get the job done. We are . . . the 1983-84 Annual Staff! 132 organizations Members: Kim Oliver, Tommy Oliver, Kim Knight, Lisa Barnard, Samantha Kirkland, Kathy Bonner, Kim Hayes, Marsha Alex- ander, Tony Oliver, Shawna Young, Vann Johnson, Angie Collins, Glenn Jarriel, Ker- ry Murray, Pat Guyton, Pamela Hobby. Facts and explanations, to be scientific, must be proved through tests conducted by many scientists. The answers to what questions describe things. The answers to how and why” questions explain things. It takes informed and creative people to think of ideas which may explain why things happen as they do. This is one of the reasons why science is a creative human endeavor. Creative ideas may become hypotheses and later theories. Theories not only explain, but they make it possible for scien- tists to predict. Scientists give faith that eventually every- thing that happens can be explained.
