Many students do not notice the interesting things in nature until someone points them out. Others have superstitious and incorrect or inaccurate ideas about various plants, animals, or natural phenomena. The Nature Club attempts to replace these erroneous ideas with facts that will lead to greater appreciation for the true wonders of nature. The plan of the Club is to study plants and animals in their relation to us. The results of the research of famous biologists will be' studied and the students Will endeavor to carry their observa- tions into every day life. Although the number of candidates reporting for practice was large, very few veterans were numbered among them. This meant that a large amount of green material had to be developed for the vacant posi- tions. The most glaring Weakness was in the pitching and catching departments as there were no experienced men eligible for these positions. Hake, Bicking, and C1-aley were rounded into a pitching stai which show a great promise for another season. Although the season was not as successful as might be expected the outlook for next year is exceedingly bright. The new men will all have had one year of experience and in addition to this only two men will be lost through graduation, namely, Kinard, third baseman and acting captaing and Detwiler, first baseman.
