PROPHECY ln The year of nineTeen hundred and forTy nine, Television was all The Talk. We had been promised aTTachmenTs for our radios for quiTe some Time- buT liTTle did we realize ThaT afTer Ten years, radio would progress sTill furTher To a poinT beyond belief. The Time is l959. The scene, a comforTable chair in my living room and before me is The laTesT model of The Speer Super Viso Radio. A receiver Tuned To our own personal wave lengThs and designed by our own John Speers. LeT us siT for a momenT while I Tune To our old classmafes. A roar is heard and upon The screen we see a fooTball game and upon The bench we find Marvin Joiner. now coach of a large NorThwesTern High School. LeT me Try ThaT, said BeTTy Jane Cooper. now a MeThodisT minisTer and a visiTor in my home. And in quick succession. she locafed Bill Thomas now Vice-PresidenT of The Farmers Nafional Bank in KenneTT and his hard-working secreTary, Georgia WaTson. We see ThaT Maxie Lovelady is busy graduaTing as valedicforian of his class aT Yale. He has a B. S. lBachelor of Sally-ologyl degree. Jerry Sinko is professor of The course girl-ology aT Yale. from Ann To Zelda. lThaT's how Maxie goT Throughl. Through The murky ocean-depfhs we see Shirley Livesay in a diving helmeT. She and her husband own a salvaging company. And whaT do we have here? I see people by The Thousands. And whaT is iT all abouT. May l visiT for a momenT? said a voice from The screen. and There sTood Dr. BeTTy Rae LiTTle, Dean of LiTTle's School for Women. And Then she Told us of The exploiTs of several of our old class. Jackie Beard is a privafe deTecTive in New York CiTy. He is definiTe compeTiTion for BosTon Blackie. Even has his own radio Suspense Thriller show every Sunday nighT following Sam Spade. GarneTTa Mills is running a Nursery for all The children of her class-maTes of '49-50. Ann Shockley is amazing everyone wiTh her career as a forTune Teller Traveling wiTh Barnum and Bailey Circus. Maxine WyaTT is Teaching advanced lessons in piano as a pasTime. She made her debuT lasT spring when she had her firsT concerT aT Carnegie Hall. Gilberf Taylor iusT couldn'T sTand iT any longer. He sTarTed raising seedless waTermelons and wiTh The profiTs boughT a rockef ship so he could Travel To Mars To sTudy The people There. He never did undersTand noisy earTh people. Don Denny is Taking up where he lefT off in The Junior play as Bufcher Boy Bean, The wresTler. He has become a successful prize fighTer. Even licked Joe Louis. Also makes movies as Jesse James' parTner. We are Told ThaT Ramona NewTon is now The wife of an imporTanT business man in Memphis and is There caring for her Twin daughTers. l can see ThaT Phylis Blair is working in Chicago as a nurse. My, my, look aT ThaT well dressed young lady. Who is she? Why of course. lT's CharloTTe Green. She has become a secrefary for a fish haTchery in Memphis. WaiT! There's some one else wiTh her. lT's Amanda Nichols. and she's also working for a well known firm-The ColgaTe TooThpasTe Manu- facfuring Company in Memphis. l believe The girls have lunch TogeTher every day. lJusT like old Timesl. Alma lrby is a Home Economics Teacher in PiggoTT, Arkansas. Geneva Lacy is a successful nurse in ST. Louis. Missouri. Vilas Gafewood is Teaching agriculTure in our dear old R. H. S.
