72567-5? Z' Opening our season after only two weeks practice, the red hot Red Devils downed St. Marys 61-58. On December 12, gaining our second victory, we defeated the Gilmore Pirates with a score of 46-41. Arch -Rival Ripley, then downed the Devils for the first defeat of the season 65-62. Returning to action after the holidays, the Red Devils came back in full force to defeat Parkers- burg Catholic Crusaders 65-60. The game of January 2, with the score 54-51, gave the Devil fans a thriller in overtime with the Wahama White Falcons. The Devils tasted their second defeat as the Spencer Yellow Jackets rolled up a score of 63-48. Buffalo was clobbered 67-53 by the sharp shooting Red Devils. Breaking a hoax, the Devils topped the Pt. Pleasant Big Blacks 69-57. Playing host to Wirt, the Red Devils upended the Tigers 86-61. Ravenswood gained revenge for the second time with Gilmore in a thrilling 69-47 victory. On our way to the top the Spano men, with 8 wins, two losses, jumped another step in defeating Wahama 59-48. On January 24, the St. Marys Blue Devils revenged their first defeat by conquering the Devils 64-57. Returning to the hard -wood, the Devils revenged the previous encounter with Spencer by rolling up a proud 66-57 victory. Ravenswood then romped the mighty Calhoan Red Devils, who in previous encounters, suffered defeat only once. The score was 71-65. February 3, meeting the Wirt countians for the second time, the Devils came out on top with a mighty score of 74-59. Again the Devils came out victoriously by defeating the Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders 73-53. Hosting the Ripley Vikings, the Red Devils motivated their abilities to stomp their rivals 62-48. Traveling to Grantsville, Calhoun County, the Spanomen doubled their wins over the Calhoun Red Devils with a score of 67-63. The Pt, Pleasant Big Blacks, making revenge their object, edged their revenge by tossing a 63-62 victory over us. February 20, the Red Devils ended the season by playing Buffalo, the Devils won 79-61, High scorer for the year was Martin Big Boo Hartley, with an average of, 26.7, Thus ended a very successful season for the Red Devil Basketball team.
