Basketball Season I957-5 After only one week of practice, Raverswood dropped the first game of the season to Gilmore 67 -65. On December 10th arch -rival Ripley slipped past the Red Devils 63-53. Ravenswood then traveled to Point Pleasant only to be trounced 66-46. The Red Devils won their first game of the sea- son 6O-52 over the Alumni. Returning to action after the holidays, the Red Devils lost a 53-49 thriller to Wahama. On January 7th Ravenswood romped over Spencer 68-57 making the season record 2-4. Ravenswood was clobbered 73-53 by the sharp shooting Buffalo Bisons. The following night Ripley made it two in a row over the Spanomen 71-52. Ravenswood's record dropped to two wins and seven losses as they bowed to Walton 50-47. The Spanomen traveled to Elizabeth on January 17 and returned home with victory number 3 as they defeated the Tigers 69-64. Ravenswood gained revenge against Gilmore on the local floor with a thrilling 73-70 victory. The Ravenswood ended the regular season with a 7-13 record on February 21 with a scintillating 95- 78 victory over the Buffalo Bisons. 44
