Football Season 1956 The Red Devils, under the direction of coaches, Jim Spano and Joe Bokovitz, started one of the most successful seasons enjoyed by a R.H.S. team in years. They picked up their first win by trouncing Wahama 27-18. The Red Devils were led by Kopcsak and Kelly. Picking up steam, the Red Devils ploughed their way to 41-6 victory over the Spencer Yellow Jackets. Kelly, Kopcsak, Fox were the big guns for R.H.S. Still going strong R.H.S. trounced Cedar Grove to the score of 34--18. Fullback George Kopcsak and quarterback james McCoy paced the Red Devil attack. Ravensw0od Up-ends Sistersville 27-O , the headlines read after the next game as the Red Devils displayed termendous offensive and defensive power as they knocked the Sistersville Tigers from the undefeated rank. The Red Devil attack was paced by Kopcsak and Kelly. The defensive work of Balis and Wilson was also outstanding. Ravenswood picked up its 5th consecutive victory, eking out a 14-7 victory over Pennsboro. Kelly, Click, McCoy, Balis and Jackson starred on defense as Kopcsak, McCoy, Click, and Proud- foot on offense for Ravenswood. After a two week layoff the Red Devils returned to action, only to defeat at the hands of the Wirt Tigers, 20-6. Daniels led the Wirt men, while the guns for R.H.S. were Sayre, McCoy, and Kelly. The Red Devils jumped back on the 'gvictory trail again by triumphing 31-0 over Walton. The Ravenswood attack was led by Wilson, Jackson, Kelly and Balis on defense, while Kopcsak, Kelly, McCoy and Buffington were outstanding on offense. Next the Red Devils traveled to Calhoun only to meet defeat at the hands of the Red Devils from Calhoun county. Putting on a grand finale, the underdog Red Devils upset undefeated Ripley as 13 seniors donned their uniforms for the last time. 4-0
