CLASS PROPHECY As we, the class of '55, look into the future we can't see a thing, therefore we called in a very renowned group of experts. The panel consists of Drew Pearson, Walter Winchell, Steve Allen, and Howdy Dowdy, After placing before them the case histories, including scholastic standings, psychological studies, citizenship ratings, and in- telligence quotients, of the fifty members of our class, the predictors came up with the following prognostications for the year 1965 A.D,g Leah Bare, Editor in Chief of the wor1d's best seller---MY ROMANCES. Ramona Brinker, A nurse supervisor at St., Joseph, Barbara Creel, Teaching grade school in Califomia, Charles Hall, Dodgers' baseball pitcher. Carroll Smith, Owner of a 20 ft. sq. farm, a corn cob pipe, and a giant box of matches, Dick Van Kirk, Ierrie Walters, Sonny Miller, on a one-way trip to the moon, Jack Carmichael, President of Boas Tech, Ralph Benson, Bookkeeper for a model agency Qalways was interested in figuresj. Carole Evans, Owner of Murraysville Dog Kennels. Malalyn Gorrell, A Barker at Ringling Brothers Circus---falways wondered why he was so quiet, guess he was saving is voice.J Patty Jackson, Cigarette girl at the Stork Club. Corrine Stanley, Now working in Cox's Laboratory, on a new kind of Peroxide to bleach the roots of hair, Thelma Foggins, Here comes Thelma with her little brood of Princes and Princesses, Virginia Hardman, is now a grade school teacher. She had ten pupils at firstgafter one week she has six. Reason?? Her temper, Doris Williams, Now one of Barnum and Bai1ey's most valuable performersg she waters elephants. Elizabeth Weekley, A beautician madly pulling out the hair of her best customer, Charles Rector, A 'hot-rod' exhibitionest. Eldon McCoy, Private in the United States Army, Jim Brotherton, President of the Liberace Fan-Club, Jim McCoy, United States Senator in Washington, D.C, Eileen Allman, Head Nurse at Johns Hopkins. Bill Chambers, Paper hanger in New York City. Helen Crites, A nurse on the Medic Mildred Smith, Living in New Jersey and commuting to New Yorkg---transportation is still a great difficulty, Joanne Bever, Ticket seller to lovers for trips down Lovers Lane on Utah Hill. Ann Casto, Washing teacups for a Salser, Don Jarrett, Chief judge of the Miss America beauty contest, Donald and Ronald Allman, Public accountants fighting about which is the older. Ray Ables, General Manager of Pack Rat Corporation, Daniel Smith, An All-American, Pearline Kidder, A farmers wife, living on a ranch in the Dakotas, Loretta Smith, Owner of Smith's Chewing Gum Factory, Janice Smith, Is now running a nursery for Jay-birds, Carroll Safreed, Famous Recording Artist on tour around the world, Leslie Hughes, Managing a Bikini bathing suit factory. Ruby Lincicome, Greatest poet since Mother Goose, Emma Zoe Hoff, Teaching her father Mathematics. Keith Durst and Ronald Scarberry, Drawing up plans for Nicotine Corners for every school, Eileene Kerwood, Running her father's general store and ten men. Doris McDermott, Proprietor of Dorie's Saloon. Dotty McCoy, Pianist in Dorie's Saloon, She and Doris were always close friends. Sue Critchfield, Ringleader of cell 13 in the asylum. CLASS HISTORY Time marches on. Four years have passed since September, 1951. lt was on this date that sixty-nine green, frightened freshmen enrolled in Ravenswood High. Although a little awed at first with high school life, we became adjusted in a few short weeks. One year later--September, 1952, we enrolled as confident and assured sophomores under the sponsorship of Mr. John Landfried and Mrs. Blanche Jar- rett. We were now only sixty-one in number, but what we lost in number, we gained in dignity and prestige. We elected as our officers this year, President, Don Jarrett, Vice President, Carole Evans, Secretary, Elizabeth Weekley, Treasurer, Bob Matics. Determined to increase our knowledge we finished our sophomore year with the assurance that we could face anything. When September, 1953 arrived we had attained the status of Juniors. Our enrollment was sixty-one in all and we were now far enough advanced to be granted the privilege of ordering our class rings. During the Junior year we gave our class play, Brother Goose. Attending Girls' State at Jacksons Mill were Sue Critchfield and Carole Evans, our representative to Boys' State was Don Jarrett. We then ended this all important year with the annual Junior and Senior Banquet and Prom. Our class officers for this year were: President, Charles Rector, Vice President, Elizabeth Weekley, Secretary, Virginia Hard- man, Treasurer, Bob Pinnell, Historian, Sue Critchfield. Our representatives to Student Council were Patty Jackson and Charles Hall. Representatives to Know Your State Government Day were Betty Dotson and Jim McCoy. Then came that all important year, 1954. At lastwe were Seniors! We had now decreased to fifty in number. We were looking forward to graduation exer- cises. Even though we were kept busy with such tasks as the 1955 Yearbook, Senior Play, Homecoming Game, and Class Night,we experienced our mostwon- derful and successful year. We were represented at the Homecoming Game by Sue Critchfield as Queen, Bob Matics as King, andEileene Kerwood,Dottie McCoy, Thelma Foggins, Elizabeth Weekley, Charles Rector, Daniel Smith, Charles Hall, and Bob Pinnell as their attendants. Many of our members have, throughout the four years, participated in Ath- letics, Band, Thespians, and the various activities of Ravenswood High School. We were well represented in our Senior year by our class officers who were: President, Bob Pinnell, Vice President, Betty Dotsong Secretary, Betty Harmon, Treasurer, Ralph Benson, Historian, Leah Bare. We feel that our Senior year has helped to prepare us for the future. We shall always remember the faculty members who helped us through these difficult years,--and especially our advi- sers, Mrs. Blanche Jarrett and Mrs. Gladys Polk. Throughout the coming years we shall look back on our days in R.H.S. with the fondest of memories and everlasting love. 16

Bob Matics, will my love for the girls to any mixed-up kid who has the art of flattery. Ruby Lincicome, will my good times in a '54 Mercury to Brenda Pinnell. Charles Rector, will my ability to get hurt in football to Larry Jackson. Mildred Smith, will my good times in Charleston to anyone go- ing there. Donald Allman, will my love to tease teachers to anyone who has courage enough to do it. Sue Critchfield, will my ability to ask questions constantly in class to Don Critchfield that he may have an excuse for talking so much. Ronald Scarberry, will my laziness to Allan Reynolds so he will not be so jittery. Patty Jackson, will my acting ability to Patsy Merrill, Jim McCoy, will my height to Dean Moore. Doris Williams, will my love for Dodges and men with muscles to Sandra McGraw. Bill Chambers, will my seat in English class to any Junior who wants to make my grades. REWTIOUS. Brinker, will my chair in study hall to anyone who wants to be under strict rules. Carroll Smith, will my ability to funnel in soft drinks to Jun- ior Click.
