Why couldn't we hold on to that ball?? Awaiting Their Turn Come On Rams, We're Behind You. ONE. GOT BY; With a trip to Montgomery, the Rams held a 14-2 half-time lead over the 67 State Champs. Sidney Lanier, whose only two points were scored in a safety. Lanier came back in the second half and defeated the Rams 15-14 in a hard fought heartbreakcr. AND OOPS, ANOTUB . The following week Ramsay met Banks and Jumped to a 7-0 lead on an intercepted pass which Sonny Gates ran back for a T D. Late in the second quarter Banks tied it up. With 15 seconds left to play in the game. Banks went ahead with a 23 yard field goal. Weymoth tried, but his man got by. 109 VfOORJE£ LEAD TO THE SCORE!! After the Banks game the Rams came back to genuinely whip Phillips. The following pictures tell the story. Disaster ... For Phillips Coach Reynolds' excellent coaching and David Knapp's superior ball handling were the winning combination in the Lee game. Lee is always a tough team to beat, and this was a big victory for the Rams. The score: 14-10 CMMPIONCUIP If the final score is any indication, our learn was ready for Huffman. A well coordinated team effort put Ramsay on top 28-0. Ramsay's Crushing Defense Jones Valley was next to fall captive to the migluy Rams. The only TD of the game was scored on an Allphln to Gates (Mike) pass. Charge! Ill AtXPPIN LED R MSAV SHOCKS Ramsay Wins Toss of Coin This was an exciting game that knocked Ensley out of contention for the state championship and gave Ramsay a berth in the Clinic Game. The Rams played an extremely well coordinated football game in which Allphin threw for two touchdowns, one of which went seventy-two yards to Mike Gates. The defense of Ramsay only allowed the gtcat Cross and Kimbrell a combined forty-two yards (which is far under par). Ramsay's rushing game picked up 149 yards, and passed for 107 yards. The Rams Move Deep into Ensley Territory During the game the Rams played a typically flawless, well coached game. This once again proves that Ramsay's coaching staff of Reynolds, Short, Wheeler, Smith and Hasenbelm are the best anywhere. 112 UNBEATEN EN£LEY, 28-12 Could it be? Our coaches are just better. Rams move against Enslcy with Alpiiin to Gates pass. Another Ramsay winning factor: A crushing defense. TRE RAMS CLOSE A NEAR PERFECT YEAR As Ramsay nears The 20 yard line RdM V IS THE GREATEST TEAM ANYWWERE BECAUSE: RAMS CINCH This shows how proud our ffl city team of 1968 was of our wonderful coach, Thompson Mutt Reynolds. Coach Reynolds took a team whom the sports writers picked as the Sleeping Bear of the big eight, and went on to the best season since 1953. Ramsay Ram’s continued to an 8-6 victory over Banks High in the Clinic game to win the 1 position in the city. Ramsay High School should be proud of these MEN. 116 This is How it went for Banks CLINIC £WE 117 This is How Sonny Helped All Night. D. to run them. Actually all you need is a high school education and some professional training. IT'S NOT EASY, mind you. And it's not cheap. But when you've earned your ECPI certificate you'll be in a position to command a highly respectable salary with even a higher potential. And you'll be in a field where the job comes looking for you.
