The learning process may take place in a number of ways. Class lectures and discussions provide the opportunity for the student to hear and to express facts and opinions. Research projects utilize the principle of learning by doing. As a student wanders through the stacks of the newly-expanded library’ looking for her needed material, sl»e glances across numerous book titles, new subjects widen her mind and excite her curiosity. Through direct experimentation, as in the chemistry laboratory, a student observes first-hand those ideas and concepts revealed during lectures. In 1968, each student was welcomed into the academic community of Kadford College and nurtured upon its principles of education. n

ACCOMPLISHMENTS 1968 was year of accomplishments, not only for the College as an institution, but also for each individual. The range of accomplishments extends from passing a certain exam to mastering the technique of sculpturing. It may have been a personal feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction or a publicly honored attainment. The student lias been presented various tasks’ and problems while at Radford. Successfully, and perhaps unsuccessfully, she has met them and has gained from these experiences. 12
