Learning the Fundamentals Pep Squad Expresses Enthusiasm This year's Pep Squad was a good group overall, said adviser Julie Karnes. The group participated in several activities during the year. The girls expressed their enthusiasm by rooting for the teams at the home varsity football and basket- ball games. During the year the Pep Squad learned the funda- mentals of cheerleading and drill team, such as high kicks, dances, and jumps, which prepared them for their mock tryouts at the end of the year. A selected group of the Pep Squad per- formed at the RLT vs. Smith High pep rally, and for the first time they performed at the Lionette and Cheerleader Show. The girls were found at all the pep rallies, spirit night, and marching in the Car- rollton Country Fair Parade. Freshman Jacquie Curtin re- membered Pep Squad as a learning experience that will prepare me for the future.
