It was the year that Rover Maris attempted to match Babe Ruths home run record and QHS produced a bunch of sizzling Blue Devils on the basketball court. It was also the year that several new pieces of equipment made their appearances in our school: the flagpole which contributed a bit of beauty and inspiration to our courtyardg several electric drinking fountains which provided constantly cool water for our thirsty studentsg the organ in the auditorium which added to our enjoyment of the assemblies. The important events world wide, nation wide, and community wide we have listed on our division pages' the memorable happenings, school wide, we have depicted throughout this book.
