Jan. 4 -First day of school! Q. H. S. enrolls a new heavyweight in football-Jones. 14- 17 CA LE N DAR-First Semester SEPTEMBER First assembly-we hear about football. Frank Dick talks of constitution in second assembly of the year. 21-Safety speaker from Chicago Motor Club in assembly-first P. T. A. meeting, and first football game 23- 24 27 vs. Pittsfield-Quincy victorious 38-6. Blaring of trumpets, and blending of harmonious melodies-the first band concert. Mr. Morrison and all his lads and lassies. -First of our lyceum assemblies. We should know, we each contributed 15c-this one was Pahmasha and his pets. - Shadow Room won the football season ticket sale-we ate, talked, and slept football long enough to do something about it. 28-Assembly with Uldine Utley, the girl evangelist. And did some of the fellows get religious! 29-New lights on our own athletic field, and Quincy defeated the I. S. D. from Jacksonville, 14-0. OCTOBER 4-5-Senior play try outs. All future John and Ethel Barrymores make their debuts. 11-Happy days are here again-Teachers' Institute, and no school for us. 12-Blissful state of no school continues. Dorothy Behrensmeyer goes to Scholastic Press Convention in Kansas City. 19-Rev. Phillip Johnson takes us on a trip to Denmark in a gala assembly meeting. 20-Quincy shares honors with Ft. Madison in a thrilling game 6-6. 22-Assembly. A talk on China, that immortal land of chop suey. Crushers are crushed at Keokuk 7-0. 28-Dedication of the Airport with our trusty band lending valuable aid. 30-Election day! Leaders for every class chosen. NOVEMBER 2-Assembly in which an interior decorator tells us how to beautify our homes and in which a twelve year old youngster shows the maestros how to toot a saxophone. 9-Mr. Angus' room stages a pep assembly with goats n'everything. We have a memorial day program with Rev. Mensendiek speaking at 1:05. Versatile Geoffrey O'Hara entertains at 3:00. We bow tc' Rock Island in exciting game 14-0. 13-Another lyceum assembly presenting a cartoonist. 16-We achieve a great triumph by defeating the invincible Routt High team 7-0. 21-An assembly featuring cuts from the senior play. , 22-Representatives to All-State Orchestra and Illinois H. S. Press Convention leave for Urbana. 27-The Senior Class presents itslplay, Huckleberry Finn which was a great success in every way. 29-The annual Quincy-Hannibal Thanksgiving game at Hannibal with Quincy reigning supreme 13-7 . DECEMBER 3-Lyceum assembly with a magician pulling the old rabbits out of hat stuff. 7-First basketball game of season with Payson. Quincy starts out right by winning 18-16. 24-Bob Reeves named as All-State End! Good work, Bobby! 26-We gain our first victory in the Pontiac tournament by winning from Peoria Central. 29-Thornton comes here to avenge themselves and provide a thrilling game. But we win again in an overtime game 29-26. JANUARY 2-Back to school again after grand vacation. 4-Pep assembly celebrating winning of 3rd place honors at Pontiac. 16-Springfield defeats us 37-21. 22-23-Final Exams! Here's hoping! 25-Bob Reeves plays his last game for Quincy High. This is your night, Bob!
