DRALLE lt was a courageous band that started on its three years' journey in the fall of '31. Despite the handicap of extremely crowded conditions in the old building the journey began merrily and determinedly under the leadership of Warner Lawrence, Marcia Knapheide, Winnifred Burkey, and Wilbur Worman as officers. The first social function of the class was the enjoyable Sophomore party. The second stage of the journey began in the fall of '32 and found the class ready for more work. This time it was led by Garth Elzea, Warner Lawrence, Norma Ritzmann, and Winnifred Burkey. The New Poor , chosen as the Junior play, was successfully staged under the able direction of Miss Mildred Daugherty. As Juniors, the class paid due honor to the Seniors at the Junior-Senior Reception. The last lap of the journey began in the fall of '33 in the new High school with Donald Green, John Deege, Marcia Knapheide, and Anna Louise Dege as class officers. The successful staging of Kennedy's drama, The Servant In the House , again under the skillful direction of Miss Daugherty, was the first class affair of the year. The Senior Athletic Banquet given for the athletes of the school was one of the outstanding social events of the year. The Moonlight Excursion sponsored by the class was a gay and joyous affair. A great part of our success is due to the untiring efforts of our sponsor, Miss Dralle. Soon our happy journey will be over and our band will scatter, but never will any one of us forget the joyful and successful journey nor the faithful guidance of the faculty which helped to make it so.
