On November 19, 1952, Mr. Sydney Van Dusen, a former member of the Board of Education, presented to the school a much needed basketball time and score clock. Mr. John Austin, President of the Board, accepted the gift on be- half of the school. In appreciation, the students of Queensbury Public School would like to thank Mr. Van Dusen for this wonder- ful gesture. Coach Robert Hughes, after completing his elementary education, attended Green Mt. Junior College for two years. Soon after his graduation in 1941, he entered the Army Medical Corps. After Serving 29 months in England and France, he was honorably discharged in December, 1945. He then entered Ithaca College and received his B. S. in Physical Education in August, 1948. This year marks coach's fifth year in the Queensbury School system. This June, coach will have completed his 32 hours of graduate work in guidance at the New York State College for Teachers at Albany. Mr. Nesbcrt DeHoney, coach of our champion JV's, hails from Mooresville, In- diana. He attended high school and Earlham College in Indiana. From Earlham, he went into the navy for three years where he had overseas duty. After being released to inactive duty, he taught and coached football, basketball, track, golf, and tennis in Connersville, Indiana schools. After coming to New York, he attended State Teachers' College in Albany where he earned his Master's Degree. From there he joined us at Queensbury High as teacher of math and science in the junior high. 22
