Ile has formerly been af- filiated with Mr. Kirkland in an administrative position for several years. Mr. Davis has also served as intermediate principal during the past four years. VVe wish to congratu- late Mr. Davis on his new appointment, knowing that he will fulfill his duties with competence. 8 Mr. D. D. Kirkland, our Superintendent with vision and foresight, has kept him- self busy the past ten years developing and directing one of this state's most out- standing school systems. His anticipation of the rapid advancement in pupil en- rollment over the years prompted neces- sary advance preparations So that our schoolis reputation for excellent scholastic standards has not been impaired, but rather improved. By carefully selecting his administrative and teaching staffs and hy adopting those teaching techniques proven worthy, he has assured each of us an outstanding opportunity to obtain that hasic fundamental education so essential in this rapidly advancing Age of Science. Concluding his second year as assistant prin- cipal is Mr. Ralph Downs. He has been a member of the faculty for the past ten years. In his job as assistant principal, Mr. Dovsms has been a great help to Mr. Mayfield by taking over many im- portant activities. W4-1,,,..f YZ. 9 Twenty-one years of school experience and an attitude of authority and understand- ing are the noteworthy qualifications of our principal Mr. Leo C. Mayfield. As principal, he has worked hard this past year to bring many improvements and changes to the schoolis curriculum. In carrying out his duties. Mr. Mayfield has won the admiration and respect of the students and faculty.
