Expression of Loyalty and Inspiration T0 Higher Aims Often it is not until precious opportunities have passed that we appreciate their true values. Only when we are far removed from things are we able to evaluate them in their significance. As we prepare to leave our ALMA MATER we realize the value of our years under her guidance and protection. The Seniors now know the heritage they have acquired at Purcell. But education, as all other human projects, entails both giving and receiving. Having received so generously from Purcell, we, graduates, now have the responsibility of sustaining and advancing the traditions to which we have fallen heir. The seeds of a Christian life have been implanted in us. It remains for us to nurture with constant endeavor what has been given to us; to render these high ideals vital and effective forces in our lives.

Dedication With sincere appreciation, for his untiring efforts and for the assistance which he has offered us so graciously in the form of counsel and encouragement, resulting from a spirit of confidence and a bond of friend- ship gained through daily personal contact, we, the class of ,42, gratefully dedicate this 1942 Cavalier to our principal, Rev4 Leonard NI. Fcc, S. M. By his example, by his spirit of gcniality, and by his cvcr-prcscnt interest in our material, moral and spiritual welfare, he has brought about, in our minds a realization of the higher ideals of civic virtue and Chris- tian character, and has inspired us to strive earnestly for perfection in our own lives, mentally, morally and spiritually. It is these inspired efforts which prepare and enable us to achieve ultimate victory in life, heternal salvation and everlasting union with God.
