Francis Xavier, is a youthful member of the nation-wide federation of students' societies organized to promote mis- sionary interest through missionary education. During the month of Qctober, Very Rev. Frank A. Thill, Rh. Secretary-Treasurer of the National Crusade, conducted a most inspiriyneg retreat for the student -body with mission work as his theme, and using this as an impetus. the first work. of organization was begun in November. 'The zealous efforts of Brother Richard Dombro, Faculty Director of the Unit, were in avery large de- gree responsible for its success. His able leadership was supplemented by the work of Bill Ray, President: Harry Cassady, Vice-President, and Michael Holtzleiter, Secretary. The premise underlying all Crusade work at Purcell is the belief that mission activity should not be directed merely 'ro foreign fields, but that it should begin immediately at Purcell. Thus a weekly spiritual bulletin is published, advocating a spirit of true Catholic action among the students. Wm. F.
