8 th GRADE The class officers are: Jo Arm Tolley, president; Jolene Grantham, vice presi- dent; Wallace Dalton, secretary; Bonnie Hubble, treasurer. The first day of school last fall saw a rather bewildered group of eighth grade students report to our high school, but they were anxious and determined to learn our routine and soon found their places here. They have been active in several school activities this year such as the preparation of Christmas baskets and the March of Dimes campaign. With Mrs. Lemons as their sponsor and Mrs. Blankenship, their guidance director, they have met twice a month with a variety of programs being presented. The total number of eighth grade students was three hundred thirty-eight, divided into eleven homerooms. They were guided by their homeroom teachers, Mrs. Bird, Mrs. Wall, Mrs. Love, Miss Dalton, Miss Frye, Miss Hobby, Mrs. l.emons, Mr. Long, Miss Painter, Miss Robinson, and Mrs. Blankenship. Mrs. Love and Mrs. Wall replaced Mrs. Dunham and Mrs. Dueno second semester. This year has been a very successful one for the eighth grade and they looking forward to being Freshmen next year. are
