Mr. Godfrey thought of organizing an orchestra when he heard a few of the band members playing popular and jazz numbers in the bandroom. The orchestra played for several dances after the home football games. It has had several engagements for dances in and out of town. All of the money raised by the orchestra is put into the band ' s funds for Winchester. seventy-three

Schrader, Wayne King, Bill Catron. The Pulaski High School Madrigal Group is one of the few in the State of Virginia and concentrates on singing Madrigals of the sixteenth and seventeenth century. We have performed at the District I Federation of Music Clubs Convention, Winter Concert, P. T. A., Spring Concert, and District Music Festival in Roanoke. We have been organized for two years. girls glee club First row: Jo Ann Cook, Betty Martin, Ann Powers, Margaret Mustard, Nancy Brown, Margaret Leeson, Elizabeth Eanes, Janie Howlett, Shirley Ward, Charlotte Meade. Second row: Wanda Nunn, Polly Andrews, Bonnie Bell, Betty Jones, Dorothy Burton, Judy Parks, Linda Dalton, Agnes Davidson, Martha Hawkins, Janice Edwards, Nancy Lovern, Marie Allison, Louise Walters. The purpose of the newly organized club is to promote a further interest in music and singing. There are twenty-four members of the club and they have per- formed at several of the schools of Pulaski, the Winter Concert, and at the District Music Festival at Roanoke. Officers were: Ann Powers, president; Linda Dalton, vice president; Judy Parks, secretary-treasurer; Nancy Lovern, librarian; and Nancy Brown, reporter. seventy-two

The Boys ' Monogram Club is a group of young men who have participated in our major sports and have received a letter. The boys work together as a group to learn sportsmanship. Our sponsor and adviser is Coach Vic Kreiter. We sold candy at the basketball games in order to buy something for the high school. We also ordered our jackets and sweaters. We took in new members and as an initiation they are paying for a party for the old members and themselves at the end of the year. Officers for this year were: Donald Hawkins, president; Eugene Turpin, vice president; Billy Akers, treasurer; and Jimmy Harrell, secretary. sevcnty-fout
