Godfrey, sponsor. The Pulaski High School Band now consists of sixty-three members and is one of the most active organizations in the school. Its purpose is to create in our schools and community a cultural consciousness of music. The Band, under the direction of Mr. James H. Godfrey, performed various maneuvers at all football games, with the exception of Tazewell. It also participated in many other school events such as bonfires, parades, assemblies, and the District VI Music Festival in Roanoke, Virginia. The Band also gave three concerts and plans to attend the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, Virginia. The officers were: David Jonas, president; Kenny Riggle, vice-president; Jimmy Harrell, secretary-treasurer; Martha Jane Cox, Mary Frances Cox, and Juanita Underwood, librarians; Bobby Umberger, drum major; and Mr. James Godfrey, director. seventy-one

Schrader, Wayne King, Bill Catron. The Pulaski High School Madrigal Group is one of the few in the State of Virginia and concentrates on singing Madrigals of the sixteenth and seventeenth century. We have performed at the District I Federation of Music Clubs Convention, Winter Concert, P. T. A., Spring Concert, and District Music Festival in Roanoke. We have been organized for two years. girls glee club First row: Jo Ann Cook, Betty Martin, Ann Powers, Margaret Mustard, Nancy Brown, Margaret Leeson, Elizabeth Eanes, Janie Howlett, Shirley Ward, Charlotte Meade. Second row: Wanda Nunn, Polly Andrews, Bonnie Bell, Betty Jones, Dorothy Burton, Judy Parks, Linda Dalton, Agnes Davidson, Martha Hawkins, Janice Edwards, Nancy Lovern, Marie Allison, Louise Walters. The purpose of the newly organized club is to promote a further interest in music and singing. There are twenty-four members of the club and they have per- formed at several of the schools of Pulaski, the Winter Concert, and at the District Music Festival at Roanoke.
