The Pulaski High School Key Club was organized on December 9, 1954, and it is sponsored by Kiwanis International. Its purpose is to conduct an active program of service activities for the school and community. Each week, two members of the Key Club attend the Kiwanis dinner meeting. In its first year of organization, the Key Club was in charge of ticket sales at the home basketball games. The Friendship Club was organized this year to give students an opportunity to make new friends and to study ways of developing personality. " Let Us Lead by Serving Others " The Beta Club is an honor organization of juniors and seniors. Reguirements for membership are a " B " average, good character, commendable attitude, and approval by the head of the high school. The purpose of the club is to encourage and recognize high school scholastic achievement, leadership, and service ability. The club sponsored bake sales, the annual " Kiddy Dance, " a skit at the State Beta Convention and a float in the homecoming parade. The main project was giving $100 to the school for the new piano. Officers are Betty Thomas, president; Jim Boyd, vice president; Mary Glenn Poarch, secretary; John Hale, treasurer; Ernest Sims, reporter. Miss Emma Gallimore is the club ' s sponsor. sixty-one

The main objective of the Oriole Chirps ' staff, composed of the members of the journalism cla ss, has been to create interest in school happenings, and to make the school more friendly by helping students become better acquainted. The staff feels that it has had a most successful year in learning, laughing, and sharing together the trials, the heartaches, and the satisfaction that are behind each issue of your Chirps.
