National Honor Society The purpose of Ihe National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimu- late a desire to render service, to promote worthy learership, and to encourage the development of character. Activities of the society for this year included an installation ceremony for the new members at an assembly program, the annual beauty contest to elect ' Miss Pulaski High " and a banquet honoring the new members at the end of the year. The officers were: Mary Anne Jennings, presi- dent; Elray Hanks, vice-president; Joan Carol Payne, secretary; Barbara Manning, treasurer. Beta Club The Beta Club is an honor organization of juniors and seniors. Requirements for membership are a " B " average, good character, commendable attitude, and administration approval. The purpose of the club is to encourage and recognize high scholastic achievement, leadership, and service ability. Club projects and activities for this year include new flag, engraving of sportsmanship plaque, toys for needy children, a float in the homecoming parade, the Kiddy Dance, and parti- cipation in state convention.
