The pre- vious year was a very good one with twelve wins and four losses. The following boys are lettermen of last year ' s team: Charlie Thomas, Russell Slaydon, Doug Malone, Jack Via, Bobby Eilis, Doug Farmer, Jack Dun- can, Captain Billy Weddle, Ralph Duncan, and Cecil Hagee. track team The Pulaski High School track team had three re- turning lettermen: Jack Duncan, Carroll Cardin, and Duane Williams. With these boys and other promising candidates we are expecting to have a successful year. They will be under the capable direction of Coaches Vic Kreiter and Jack Miller. The Junior Varsity Basketball team, under the capable leadership of Coach Gene Hoback, had a good season this year. The baby Orioles had a record of seven wins and five losses. They defeated Draper and Pearisburg twice, took sing ' e games from Christiansburg, Fries, and Blacks- burg, lost twice to Radford, and once each to Fieldale, Fries, and Pearisburg. On March 6, they traveled to Bassett and entered the Junior Varsity Tournament there. Fighting all the way, they lost to a 6 foot-plus Fleming team 56-42 in their first game. Thus ended the 1952 season for the junior Birdmen. junior varsity basketball t ! golf The Pulaski High School Golfers are expecred to improve this year. They are led by Captain Bobby Ellis.
