The purpose of the National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character. The society sponsored the annual beauty contest to elect Miss Pulaski High. " At the end of the year, new members were elected and honored with a banquet. The Beta Club is a leadership service organization tor high school Juniors and Seniors. The purpose of the club is to raise the standard of the student body and to create in the students a desire to further their education. Membership is based on good mentality and character, commendable attitude, and achievement of a " B " average during the first two or three years of high school. Members must maintain these qualities and be approved by the school. Activities of the club for this year included a formal Installation ceremony as an as- sembly program, and an annual Kiddie Dance, at which toys were charged as admission and presented to the Salvation Army. The club was in charge of the bulletin boards as a project. The officers were: Betty Beamer, pres ' dent; Evelyn Hall, vice-president; Peggy Hedge, secretary: Don Logan, treasurer.
